2005's on its way out! Hard to believe things have moved so quickly, seems like I shaved my head last week and I've
already got a full head of hair again. Menstruation Sisters, Popular Shapes and Pissed Jeans all turned up on the occasional
"Best Of 2005" list much to my delight, with things only heating up for 2006!
Here's a small selection of what our camp is bringing to 2006:
-- Pearls & Brass / Pissed Jeans on tour together
-- Air Conditioning's No Fun Fest appearance and new 12"
-- Leprechaun Catering LP and live performances
-- Pearls & Brass's Drag City debut
-- Aufgehoben picture disc 7"
-- Pissed Jeans new single / album
-- City Monkey's first show
-- Menstruation Sisters LP on Ecstatic Peace
-- Gatecrashers and Ultimate Warriors discography CDs
-- More Jeff the Pigeon debauchery
-- Intramural basketball league
See you on the other side!

Some pre-Thanksgiving news, before we all get ripped on nog:
It's now confirmed that White Denim will be releasing a picture disc 7" by Aufgehoben! I couldn't be more excited. For
those unfamiliar, Aufgehoben are an English group who channel equal parts Mainliner, Peter Brotzmann and Masonna. If you've
seen their previous records, you know that their artwork is equally affecting. They're recording now, should have some
rough mixes available in the next few weeks. Until then, go check out their information-packed website! www.aufgehoben.org
Air Conditioning are still figuring out the nuts and bolts of their 2006 Winter tour, I hope to get some information on
that shortly. They're also working on a new 12", but the exact details haven't been hammered out yet. They played a killer
collaborative set with Otesanek a few weeks ago that left at least one Otesanek member bloodied. That was my cue to get
out of there!
Nice Nice recently released a new disc entitled 'Yesss!' on Audraglint, a cool Portland label (of which Portland has many).
It's somewhat of a return-to-form for these guys, heavy on the sticky dub and electronic riddims. Pick it up!
There's only four copies of the Menstruation Sisters single left here at the estate. It's not a threat, just a warning!
They are currently working on a new full-length LP for Ecstatic Peace, which has been described to me as their "pop" record.
That, my friends, is a threat!
And finally, as if I needed another nerdy hobby, I've entered the blogging world, although you won't be reading about what
I ate for breakfast and how much my math teacher sucks. I just plan on ranting about music, movies and books until my fingertips
go numb. Here's the URL: http://freshpatina.blogspot.com

Quick update:
Barnacled will be heading out to the West Coast in early 2006 for a select handful of performances. Weird, I know! But
all my rowdy friends near the other ocean will be in for a treat. I will post these dates as soon as they're available.
Does this mean their second full-length may see the light of day shortly? I certainly hope so!
Still gearing up for the Leprechaun Catering LP, if you're around Baltimore I'm sure you see those guys puffing hookahs
in the alley on weeknights.
Not too much else going on back at the camp, Pissed Jeans are playing out now, take a look if we come to your town. I'll
be the guy in the Eli Manning jersey.

I was lucky enough to hear the new Pearls and Brass recording for their Drag City debut, and let me be the first to
say it's an epic jaw-dropper. They have officially entered their own realm, and have all-but mastered vocal harmonization.
It's coming out in January, but I'll be hanging out at their pad in New Nazareth bugging them to put it on until then.
Pissed Jeans have a couple upcoming shows in October, both in Philadelphia for those nearby. Check the Jeans internet heaquarters
(www.whitedenim.com/pissedjeans) for the info.
Speaking of people nearby, on this Thursday Nautical Almanac, PSI/pee-ess-eye, Crystal Cock Over Canada and Attitude Problem will all be performing
at one of the final (?) Jeff the Pigeon shows. So come check that out!
Although the Popular Shapes single is sold out on my end, my recently-married friend Brad still has copies available. Feel
free to email him at hatetheeighties@yahoo.com to grab a copy. Man, that
wedding reception will go down in the history books. This guy won the limbo contest!

Leprechaun Catering will be performing live on Baltimore's NPR affiliate WYPR tomorrow at 7:00 pm EST! Don't believe
me? Well, you'll just have to tune your internet browser to www.wypr.org and
suck the crumbs out of your keyboard with a straw.
Before I head out to see Violent Students perform tonight, I also wanted to mention that a few White Denim releases have
recently went out of print, notably the Popular Shapes single, with the Barnacled single to follow in a week or so. Thanks to
everyone for that! As a reward, the Leprechaun Catering LP remains next on the list, with a 7" single to follow by an amazing
English group that has not yet confirmed 100%, and therefore will remain a mystery until they do so. You'll hear it here first though, and hopefully soon!

Where has the summer gone! Granted, I've sweated through my jacket at more shows than I'd care to remember in the past
couple months, but I'm still getting into the summertime groove. A couple points of interest:
New Mammal LP should be hitting soon on Animal Disguise, once the pressing problems are resolved. Mammal is to a record
pressing plant as a family reunion of fat people is to Old Country Buffet. He's coming to the East Coast in October and
November, dates to follow soon! Can't wait to hear what the Mam's been up to lately.
Speaking of touring Air Conditioning are putting together a pretty sizeable tour for January, let's hope it happens. Should
take them to the West Coast, if I'm not mistaken!
Leprechaun Catering are still gearing up for their White Denim LP. Much like Randy and smoked cheese, I just can't get enough
Leprechaun Catering.
Barnacled recently played a show up in Providence that somehow featured 49 band members. That's enough to sink any ship!
I haven't heard how it went, but I'm sure there was at least one accordion-related injury.
And finally, the last Dump on the Chump radio show takes place this Sunday, the 21st. Listen on the internet while Brad and I
give the term "dead air" a whole new meaning! For now I'm going to the beach, send me an email if you want to know the best
place to find shrimp in Seaside Park, NJ.

Just wanted to quickly point you in the direction of a great Air Conditioning piece on Blastitude,
Killed by Pennsylvania indeed! There's more quotable quotes in that interview than a month's worth of Time magazine.
Leprechaun Catering's new disc 'Mesmerized Ants' is available now, and it's fantastic! Imagine if a crate of early 90s techno 12"s
was infested with radioactive termites and you're only halfway there. Check www.megaphonerecords.com for the details.
And keep in mind, Dump on the Chump will be on air tomorrow, 3:00 to 6:00 pm EST! Ride the snake!
07.11.05
My friend Brad and I are doing a radio program this year and it streams on the web for the entire
world to enjoy. It's called "Dump on the Chump", and the next show is July 31st from 3:00 to 6:00 pm
EST. It's WLVR 91.3 for the locals, and www.wlvr.org for the
foreigners. And you can check out the first program's playlist here.
Nice Nice just dropped two new CDs on Temporary Residence, the first in a series of four dedicated to the seasons.
It's a bit of a departure from the Nice Nice you may be familiar with, these tracks are droning, lonesome lullabies.
Great stuff!
Oh, and check out this "Listed" feature that Pissed Jeans did for Dusted Magazine. Ain't no lie, Allentown is coming
on strong! http://www.dustedmagazine.com/features/386
And speaking of Pissed Jeans, we had the dubious honor of being listed in the new issue of the Wire under the "Dodgy Group
Names" section, notably alongside soon-to-be White Denim recording artists Leprechaun Catering. Then again, what can
you expect from a magazine that takes its name from a popular HBO crime drama?

Smile! It hasn't even been a month since the last update, but it feels like forever.
The short Air Conditioning / Pissed Jeans tour was a blast, thanks to everyone who helped
out along the way and made our journey that much more enjoyable! I'm talking about Ariel in
Charlottesville, Intense Andy in Pittsburgh, George in Chapel Hill and anyone else who held open a door
or let us steal your old vegetable oil. We all got really good at frisbee and I got a candy pizza
as a gift. Next summer: Europe?
White Denim #9, the new Menstruation Sisters single, is available now, and has been selling at
a swift pace! Holmsey said the cover art reminds him of Alien Ant Farm, and it's scary just how true
that band name applies to the Sisters' sound.
Pearls and Brass are going to release their next record with Drag City! I look forward to hearing their name
muttered in the same breath as Will Oldham and Neil Hamburger. New website for the guys, too! www.pearlsandbrass.com.
I was happy to learn that they were all well-fed on their recent tour. Just don't smell their van.
Pissed Jeans new album is out on compact disc for now, vinyl in the next month or so. I've been told
that you can purchase it at www.buycrime.com, but you might just
have to check for yourself. Pleasing artwork by Ron Rege Jr., too!
That's all for now, time to pull out my beach towel and head over to Slaskifest. Don't stop dreaming of juice!

Can't wait! I found my favorite pair of underwear that I lost a year ago in my closet, things
are looking up.
Speaking of The Jeans, there's a cool interview up now on Blastitude: http://www.blastitude.com/18/PISSEDJEANS.htm
Menstruation Sisters 7" is done, and will be available for mailorder when I get back! Feel free
to inquire about wholesale, regular orders will just have a wait a week. This record turned out great!

Air Conditioning's 'Bachelor Party' is sold out on my end! All previous orders will be filled,
but I'm fresh out at this point. I know the band still has copies they'll be bringing with them
on tour, though. And for anyone who missed out, I put up a full MP3 of the title track on the record's
page.

The stretch of shows in early June for Air Conditioning and Pissed Jeans is coming together

All the shows are booked, I'm just waiting on the venue info for all the TBAs listed above.
Can't wait! And speaking of Air Conditioning, their upcoming 7" picture disc on the Electric
Human Project might be available for our trip. Hope to see you fine folks at the gigs!
On a more mysterious note, please check out a new band I'll be dipping my toes in, City Monkey.
Imagine Arse Destroyer with a 1990s prime-time NBC vibe and you're on your way. I don't think
so, Tim!

Get it sewed up! We're in April and I'm ready to dust off my favorite pair of shorts.
Air Conditioning's 'Bachelor Party' has been selling at a ferocious pace, unfortunately I only
have a handful left at this point. I had to take it out of the catalog for a few days while I caught
up on orders, but it's back up now. Speaking of Air Conditioning, I recently saw that the distro
Social Deviant had it available, but I just checked
their site and it appears to be gone. Sorry! The music on 'I'm in the Mountains...' might eventually be re-released
by a different label on compact disc, but their new stuff will slay it anyway. Last Saturday they were supposed
to record a full set from the inside of an SUV, but I have a confirmed report that they got lazy and just
went to Wendy's instead.
Speaking of the internet, Dusted Magazine turned my cheeks three shades of red with all the glowing praise
and kind words. I might let this go to my head and start wearing my leather jacket in public! You can check
out what I'm talking about here: http://www.dustedmagazine.com/features/1
Alright, that's it for now! Hopefully I'll have Menstruation Sisters singles and the beginnings of a tan with
my next update.

Man, I must've really been busy, because I forgot to remind you that Air Conditioning, Pissed Jeans
and Pearls & Brass all got together in Pittsburgh for a gig at Modern Formations on April 16th. It was fantastic!
I got to catch Career Suicide and Violent Minds across town, then hug some old friends and goof off
on the street. And for the record, any stories you may overhear about bathwater are COMPLETELY true.
Speaking of Air Conditioning, Pearls & Brass and Pissed Jeans, we're all performing together again on
April 30th at Jeff the Pigeon, along with the Psychic Paramount. Should be a great time, hopefully I can
slither out of my shirt and tie from the wedding I'll be attending earlier in the day. Congrats Bob and Liz!
The Menstruation Sisters single now has a forseeable future, it's being pressed right now. If it's not
in my sweaty palms before the end of May, I'll eat my shoe. Good things come to those etc. etc.
Nice Nice are cooking up a new record soon, I'm not sure who's releasing it but I am sure I will be procuring
at least a couple copies for myself. They're also driving out to Minneapolis in the near future for a big music fest ran by MSG
of Freedom From, so it will prove to be exciting if nothing else.
Speaking of hitting the road, the Pissed Jeans tour is now a Pissed Jeans / Air Conditioning tour! Both
bands will be performing at all shows. Help is still needed with booking, so please shoot me an email if you can
make things happen! The dates and locations are all the same, the only thing that's changed is the survival
rate of your eardrums (I think it's down to about 6% now).

Air Conditioning's 'Bachelor Party' is available now, and you're invited! Check the catalog page
for ordering information.
Speaking of the A/C, they will be performing with Pearls & Brass and Pissed Jeans at Modern Formations
in Pittsburgh, PA on April 16th. Pearls & Brass are playing at the Talking Head in Baltimore with Subarachnoid
Space the night before Easter, too. And, they just opened for Slint. I hope they make it big soon, so they
can go buy a plot of land in the Appalachian mountains and I can come visit and swim in a lake.
Please go catch Hair Police live while they are on the road, even though I think their East Coast jaunt is coming to a close soon. I don't remember
the last time I was simultaneously smiling and headbanging as I was during their Philadelphia performance.

It's snowing, but I was playing ball with Smoke and other local kids in 60 degree weather last week.
Who let the dogs out?
More shirts are in stock, this time with orange ink instead of purple. They look great!
Both Air Conditioning and Menstruation Sisters will be dropping their new singles shortly, hold
tight! Looks like the Air Conditioning will be first.
Pissed Jeans will be hitting the road again in early June, possibly with Air Conditioning or Pearls
& Brass, but definitely at least the Jeans. Here's the tentative schedule, please feel free to send
me an email if you think you can help out!
6/03, Friday - Allentown, PA @ Pirate's Cove
6/04, Saturday - Baltimore, MD
6/05, Sunday - Virginia Beach, VA
6/06, Monday - Carboro, NC
6/07, Tuesday - Asheville, NC
6/08, Wednesday - Nashville, TN @ Springwater
6/09, Thursday - Lexington, KY
6/10, Friday - West Virginia? any ideas?
6/11, Saturday - Washington, DC
6/12, Sunday - Philadelphia, PA @ The Khyber
Speaking of Pissed Jeans, we just recorded our first full-length album, to be released on Parts
Unknown Records. Pissed Jeans will also be on a compilation CD-r featuring Double Leopards, Mouthus,
Magik Markers and a bunch more, released by our pal Tony Rettman of High Flying Tony Rettman Records and Tapes. And I still find time to put on a tie every morning.

The test pressings for Air Conditioning's new single 'Bachelor Party' are finished and sounding
great! If the Conditioners can get me the art for the record covers soon, this should have a March
release date. It's a split label release with White Tapes, and will be a one-time pressing of 200
copies. For those who always hated math, that means I'll have 90 copies for sale, so keep those
peepers peeled! For those curious, 'Bachelor Party' is a live recording from Air Conditioning's glorious
No Fun Fest set last year. If you were the guy who yelled "take a shit on Brother JT!" while they
were setting up, you may want to own a copy of your own voice on vinyl! Heck, if you can somehow
prove that it's you who said that, I'll give you a copy.
Menstruation Sisters 'Holy Africa' has been generating some emails, but it's not out just yet! Sorry folks,
still waiting on the vinyl after changing pressing plant strategies. I will be sure to keep you posted!
And on top of that, Leprechaun Catering's next LP, entitled 'Male Plummage', is in the works. I would
try to imagine, but I'm not interested in cleaning up my exploded head.
Also, I got some Popular Shapes / Kurt split 7"s in the catalog. Not only can you tell that they were
screenprinted by touching the cover, the smell of paint will fill up your bedroom in seconds! I prefer
Eternity or Tommy, but hey, it's your funeral.

Greetings!
Pay Toilets managed to build a thick wall of tension at Jeff the Pigeon last Thursday.
I'm still not sure if I had a good time or not, which only makes me that much happier
to have Pay Toilets on the White Denim roster. Please, do yourself a favor and catch
these guys live before someone is killed! If only all punk rock was as legitimately
bothersome as Pay Toilets.
Up next will either be the Menstruation Sisters single or the Air Conditioning single.
Both records will be fairly limited, as my apartment looks better without boxes filled
with unsold records. Keep your eyes peeled!
Speaking of records, I managed to get two copies of the Nice Nice single returned to me
from an old distro order. They are $5 each, postage paid. Email me to reserve it if you
want it, as they will probably be gone faster than you can say Popular Shapes!
And finally, not sure if I mentioned it, but Pearls & Brass are back together and writing
new material, as well as preparing to fly to England to perform at the Slint-curated
All Tomorrow's Parties event. I wonder how they plan on sneaking that Nitrous tank onto
the plane? They will be performing at Jeff the Pigeon on January 29th and at the Khyber
on February 5th with Pissed Jeans. But sorry ladies, they're all happily spoken for!

Man, 2005! If you would've asked me about this year when I was ten, I would've told you
that I'd be married and a professional surfer by now. Sadly that's not the case, but I
do have records!
'B-Ball Music' has sold faster than any other White Denim release thus far. I don't see
this one making it to the Spring, so hurry up or find yourself cursing the popularity of
the Shapes! Brad at Hate the Eighties has plenty of copies too.
Pay Toilets got a very nice write-up in the Pittsburgh City Paper, I'll
have to congratulate them on it when they come to the Pigeon next Thursday.
Speaking of next Thursday at the Pigeon, Pissed Jeans will be opening the show. Speaking of
opening shows, we look forward to performing this Friday, January 7th, at the Pirate's Cove in Allentown
with Air Conditioning, Monday, January 10th, at Silk City in Philadelphia with Clockcleaner, and Saturday,
February 5th, at the Khyber in Philadelphia with Pearls & Brass. I've been reading a lot of 'Get In The Van', but
have managed to keep all that self-loathing at a healthy distance. Come out and say hello if you're in the area.
And probably in the "biggest" news of the new year thus far, White Denim is proud to confirm that we will be releasing
a 7" single by Air Conditioning! This is going to be a highly limited affair, and co-released by the great label
White Tapes, who had the foresight to obtain the recording
that will comprise the record. This will happen soon, so keep your checkbooks handy!
