That was fast! The Eddy Current single is now completely sold out on my end. I don't know how many copies (if any) Metropolitan Recluse has left, but you can try writing him via "cantstandthemidwest AT yahoo DOT com" if you're still interested. Thanks everybody!

Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Popular Shapes singles are back in the catalog now! Found a couple Popular Shapes left, and I'm all caught up with previous Eddy Current orders. Only a few left of each though, so order soon if you're interested!

Congratulations to Eddy Current for releasing the fastest-selling White Denim record to date! Sure, it's not like there's a few thousand pressed, but the people have spoken and 'You Let Me Be Honest With You' is nearly sold out. I took it off the catalog for a quick second, to catch up with orders and make sure international buyers get a fair chance as well. There may be a repress, or maybe there'll be an entirely new single eventually! Both would be nice, but only time will tell.

It's been some time since Nice Nice got a mention in these updates, but I recently found that they have a MySpace page, complete with new songs and plenty of friends. Check it out! myspace.com/nicenice

Speaking of White Denim's glorious past, Pay Toilets are allegedly gearing up for their first show in over a year! I'm not sure what this means, besides some more frowny faces, broken bottles and swapped saliva. Pittsburgh is like five hours away from here, and I bet I'll smell it when it's happening.

I guess that's all for now. Mi Ami 12" is on the way, I'll keep you posted. Oh, and Pissed Jeans are playing gigs with both Black Dice and Mudhoney this month. Who knew?

Eddy Current Suppression Ring 'You Let Me Be Honest With You' 7" single is out now! Head over to the catalog page to order a copy. Really great stuff! They were some of the nicest gents I've ever met during their time over here in the states, I was more than a little sad to see them go. Expect an interview with them in an upcoming issue of Maximum Rock N' Roll, too! You should've seen the way the hipster girls salivated over Brendan during their Brooklyn performance.

To spill the beans, the next White Denim record will be a 12" offering by the finest act currently holding dual residence in San Francisco and outer-space: Mi Ami! Mi Ami are some old friends and some soon-to-be friends, making elongated, mental dance music, somewhere between the midnight murmur of Excepter and the 4/4 juice of Arthur Russell. It's kind of all over the place, but everything I've heard has left me thinking "yes, THAT is what Mi Ami sound like." Except their debut record, both for themselves and with White Denim, to drop sometime in early 2008!

In other new release news, Robert of Air Conditioning has a project called Endless Humiliation and it absolutely smokes. Imagine the thuggish noise thud of Air Conditioning, sped up to gore-grind speed and played at a much hotter temperature. The debut Endless Humiliation record comes out on the new Double Decker in-house label, Flavor Blasted, in the next few months and I for one will be eager to get my hands on a copy.

Speaking of Air Conditioning, they're hitting the road in October! Going out to Colorado and back, or so I've been told. If I had tour dates, I'd post them, but for now check your local record stores / message boards for any info. I know they are playing a date in the midwest with Mammal, who has completely flipped his vision sideways and released one of the best albums of the year, 'Lonesome Drifter'. PLEASE, do yourself a favor and seek this out! I always have high expectations for this guy, but 'Lonesome Drifter' is just completely over-the-top anomie. I believe everything about Mammal.

There might be more news, but I'm forgetting it now. Have fun in cool weather!

In a strange turn of events, I now have a small handful of the Popular Shapes single available again! It's been sold out for a year or two, so this is definitely the last chance to snag this great record from White Denim. Check it out in the catalog!

It's a triple-update August!

Eddy Current Suppression Ring recently contributed a song, "Demon's Demand", for a documentary titled 'Constructing Fear'. Sounds good, right? You can download the song in its entirety here, or check out the film's website at www.constructingfear.com.

I just got word of three upcoming Leprechaun Catering shows! Late notice, I know, but I'll take what I can get when it comes to watching these boys live. I'll be at tonight's gig, maybe you can make it to one of the three:

Friday 8/10 @ Adventure Island in Philadelphia, PA
Saturday 8/11 @ The Cake Shop in New York, NY
Sunday 8/12 @ Current Space in Baltimore, MD

Sure, I didn't call in July, but I was doing my best to soak up the heat and rain that have so far defined Summer 2007. Here's what's new:

The Eddy Current Suppression Ring single is at the press now, should be out and available by next month! Startling, I know. Eddy and the boys will have most copies with them on their US tour, and the rest will be distributed to eager hands across the globe. Don't worry, I will definitely have some for sale on the site, as usual. I've already added it to the releases page and got their band page set up, so you can check out the cool cover art and click on their links. I plan on taking the ECSR gang to every record store in Eastern Pennsylvania when they're in town, Lord have mercy.

There's a new Air Conditioning cassette out now, and I haven't heard it yet, but all accounts read that it's some of their harshest stuff yet. Sign me up!

Everyone loves Randy! Alumni of Pearls & Brass and currently performing with Pissed Jeans, he's geared up for a solo record under the guise Randall of Nazareth, set to be released before year's end on Drag City. Should be a doozy! Boy knows how to make women cry, and this record will only cement that fact.

Alright, I'll spill the beans. The next White Denim release will be a single by Eddy Current Suppression Ring, who I can comfortably say are the best new punk band I've heard all year. They're from Australia, and have that vintage OZ sound I love so much, equal parts X and the Victims. This ain't no retro thing, though, and these boys really know how to write a killer song. They'll be heading to the States in September, at which time the Jeans will play a couple gigs and have some fun. Can't wait! This single will be co-released with my pal Brad, who is starting a new label just for it. It'll be available for the tour, so yes, this will be out sooner rather than later! Keep an eye peeled here for more info in the next couple months. In the meantime, check out their official website: www.ecsr.com.au

Quick Aufgehoben news: They were featured on Collective Voice radio, and it's available in podcast form for anyone with a web connection. Just head over to http://www.collectivevoice.net/podcast/ and pick up "collectivevoicepodcast-may1007.mp3" for the show. The Aufgehoben section starts about 58 minutes in, and they might be drunk!

Quick head's up: White Denim now has a PO Box mailing address, for quicker and possibly friendlier correspondence. It's updated all over the site, but I'll put it here anyway:

Yes, all those y's are intentional! The Welsh are a crazy people.

In less boring news, Air Conditioning used a deer ribcage at No Fun Fest and Pissed Jeans are playing with Andrew WK in August. Oh, and the new record "drops" June 5th. Pick it up anywhere but FYE!

Soon enough, I'll be posting some more show info, lots of things to confirm in the next few weeks. Sadly, overdrafting my checking account from a record-buying spree is one of them.

Aufgehoben's single is nearly on its way out! Same with the Leprechaun Catering album. I probably better put out some new records, right?

Finally warming up, it's perfect weather to snatch a frisbee out of the air. Before I head back to the tennis courts, let me tell you what's going on!

Ehse Records has released a picture disc 10" by Snacks, who feature one half of Leprechaun Catering. If you found their sound appealing (and really, who doesn't?), you'll love Snacks! Same sort of mechanical splooze with a funky, sometimes queasy beat. Best snoring I've ever heard on vinyl, too! And speaking of Leprechaun Catering, I have literally TWO copies left of 'Male Plumage', so if you still haven't snagged this future classic, you know what to do.

I mentioned that copies of Aufgehoben's 'Messidor' are available, and they sold out fast. If you still are itching for more Aufgehoben, fear not, as I now have copies of their third full-length 'Anno Fauve' in the catalog. Great stuff, and probably at the lowest domestic price around!

White Denim #13 is nearly confirmed, look for word on that soon. Very excited! Don't want to let the cat out of the bag without full confirmation, but y'all can definitely expect a punk record.

And finally, for all Seattle friends, Pissed Jeans will be out there playing at the Sunset Tavern on May 18th with the Unnatural Helpers, come out if you can! We can talk all things Temple of the Dog. Meanwhile, if you're anywhere on the East Coast, I expect you front and center for Air Conditioning's No Fun Fest performance.

New t-shirts are here! They look great. Check it out at the catalog page and order a large, medium or small.

Also, if you're in the Philadelphia area, check out Air Conditioning with Bloodyminded and Macronympha at Circle of Hope on Monday, April 23rd. Hot on the heel of their new album 'Dead Rails'!

Man, things are flying by in 2007! In no time, I'll be finding Easter eggs, eating barbeque at the beach, carving pumpkins and buying Christmas presents! While the future is great to think about, let me keep you abreast of the current White Denim happenings:

Lowcut Magazine was nice enough to ask me some questions about White Denim, so I did my best to answer them thoughtfully. You can read the whole thing here!

Aufgehoben are tearing up the charts, with both their new picture disc and their recent album 'Messidor'. I got some copies of 'Messidor' in the catalog now, so head over and snag a copy if you enjoy their mentally-staggering material! They have also been featured in this month's issue of Wire Magazine, which I urge you to purchase, or at least thumb through at Borders.

Air Conditioning are slated to perform at this year's No Fun Fest in a collaboration with American Band. I'll be picking the metal shavings out of my hair afterward, no doubt about it. Hopefully we can squeeze some other shows out of A/C in the upcoming months. An online petition is in order!

New White Denim shirts will be available in the catalog in the next week or two; they're done, I'm just waiting on the delivery. Cool new design, made in mind of those with subtle taste in fashion.

As you may or may not have noticed, there are no upcoming White Denim releases at this time. Fear not, I'm just taking a breather and plan on announcing the next scheduled releases shortly. Stay tuned!

Aufgehoben's picture disc single is available now! Head over to the catalog and order a copy or two. Sounds and looks great, really stoked to offer up the first 7" vinyl from this British unit; also stoked that it's thick as a dinner plate.

Besides the joy of a new Aufgehoben record, here's what's currently up for 2007 and beyond with your favorite White Denim characters:

Air Conditioning are gearing up for two new releases, an LP/CD on Load Records and a cassette on Callow God. Can't wait to check those out! Hopefully some more live gigs too, I heard something about touring in a pickup truck.

Leprechaun Catering are playing out on occasion and have something planned for the Public Eyesore label, not totally sure what but my eyes and ears are peeled.

Aufgehoben are playing in London next weekend, and have new recordings that may or may not see the light of day this year. Unstoppable!

City Monkey is a new band featuring Air Conditioning and Pissed Jeans personnel along with an old troublemaker. Multiple TBA splits have already been recorded! Hopefully an MP3 on the Myspace page isn't too far away.

Pissed Jeans have recorded their second full-length album, entitled "Hope For Men", which is slated for a June release on Sub Pop. Synthesizer-free!

That's good for now! I'm gonna hide under a pile of blankets and upgrade my Netflix subscription. Talk soon!
