White Denim?

White Denim is a vinyl-only record imprint that has been in existence since October of 2001. The focus has been and will continue to be with unusual, marginalized, obscure, difficult and otherwise interesting musicians and artists from both near and far. Each record is released in a one-time edition; there will be no repressings.

Do you accept demos?

White Denim is happy to receive any unsolicited demos, CDs, cassettes, vinyl releases or homemade ephemera one thinks is worth sharing. It's a truly great feeling to be turned on to something completely new, out of the blue. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to release every good band I hear, nor can I financially make White Denim a full-time venture, so I really cannot guarantee anything except a response, my thanks, and an honest opinion. However, please keep in mind that I'm not interested in downloading MP3s or visiting a MySpace page to do so.

Do you still have ____ in stock?

Everything listed in the catalog is available for purchase. Wholesale is also available for certain items as well; send me a quick email and I'll be happy to let you know what's available. If there's anything you think I might have available that isn't listed, or see anything on my record list that's driving you crazy, feel free to send an email, especially one that offers various musical equipment, bags of money and plane tickets to Hawaii in return. If you run a record label and would like to do a trade, please let me know, but keep in mind that I am most interested in other vinyl releases and don't have much use for CDrs in my already cluttered household.

Where can I find White Denim releases?

White Denim releases are always available directly; head over to the catalog page to see what's currently available. Besides that, there are a variety of distributions and record shops that carry White Denim product all over the globe. I've linked and described mostly all of the ones I'm aware of on the links page, which lists a pretty decent selection.

Can you get ____ a show?

From 2003 through 2006, White Denim helped book shows at Jeff the Pigeon, the East Coast's premier venue to attack the performing artist without repercussion. Sadly, the doors to Jeff the Pigeon closed in late 2006, as the entire warehouse building that housed the Pigeon was condemned by the local authorities. At this point, there's no venue connected to White Denim, and I'm not interested in booking any more shows at this time. Who knows what the future holds, though!

I want to start a label like White Denim. Any advice?

Don't expect to make money, don't get discouraged when things aren't perfect, don't use credit cards to finance it. Good luck!
