Okay, here is the finalized list of artists that
will be performing on White Denim #4, a compilation
LP which will be titled 'Closet Full of Clothes':
Black Eyes (Maryland), Doormouse (Milwaukee), Hair
Police (Kentucky), Mammal (Detroit), My Name Is Rar
Rar (Chicago), Nice Nice (Portland), Pearls and
Brass (Nazareth), and Small Rocks (Manchester). I
am incredibly excited to be dealing with any one
of these amazing acts, let alone all together on
one record! They are all recording / will be recording
in the next few months, expect this record to see
the light of day come late Spring 2003. For anyone
not in the know on all of these incredible artists,
I will be adding band pages in the coming weeks.
2003 is not ready for this record!

Nice Nice buttons are here! About seven different
and colorful designs to spruce up your bag, jacket,
purse or fanny pack. Check the catalog for a few
of the designs and ordering.

Check back soon for more news on the compilation!

Just wanted to drop a note about White Denim #4,
slated for a late Spring / early Summer release.
It is going to be a 12" compilation! I know that
compilations are a murky, sometimes gooey area
of musical output, but I am positive that this
record will contend with Fear of Smell, Let Them
Eat Jellybeans, American Youth Report, and Cottage
Cheese From the Lips of Death! There will be 8
acts, 4 are confirmed so far. To get your jeans
tightening and your intenstines contracting: My
Name Is Rar Rar, Nice Nice, Black Eyes, and
Mammal!! I have spent hours in class doodling
and fantasizing about this record, and am just
so stunned and excited to be working with such
an incredible variety of musicians. More on
this as it develops, my friends! See you at
the Tan as Fuck / Soft Folds show tonight!
11.25.02
I am doing a show this Sunday, December 1st, at
a new room in the Sweatshop building here in
scenic Allentown, PA. Tan as Fuck and the Soft
Folds will be performing, the latter being the
first "local" show for these An Oxygen Auction
alumni. Starts at 8, for those in need of exact
directions or more info, please email me. There
will most likely also be one more opening act.
Seeing how the Sweatshop can be a volatile space,
we are trying to keep this fairly on the dl.
Much love and propers to the Soft Folds themselves,
who are hosting the get-together. Should be an
excellent kickoff to what will surely be a most
righteous holiday season!
11.21.02
I just got in some copies of Sincere Brutality,
a cool zine that features Nice Nice on the
cover. They have an interview, along with other
awesome bands like Total Shutdown, Destroyer,
and Deerhoof to name a few. If you want a
copy, it's $1 ppd. Also, Nice Nice will soon
have their own site up, navigate your way to
www.nicenice.net and join the party!
11.12.02
As a special offer that I felt needed to be
provided, you, the Denimite, can order both
the GTC 7" and the Nice Nice 7" together for
$6 postage paid. Cash or money order to the
address to the right; for Paypal toss me an
email and I will hook up the details.

Also, in the next week or so these distros
will be stocked with White Denim product.
They are all ran by solid, honest people and
get my full support and thanks!

The Nice Nice 'There Will Be Slogans' 7" is
available now! 530 copies on clear, thick vinyl
from the Czech Republic. They will be out in
all the usual distro spots soon, but they can
now be ordered for $3.50 direct. Check the Catalog
link for ordering details. I am so excited about
this record, Nice Nice are an incredible group
and I hope that I can get them some in time for
their show with Black Dice on the 11th. Tour the
East Coast, Nice Nice!

In less exciting news, the Gatecrashers continue
to burst out of hibernation with a show November
15th at Muhlenberg University, with the Scarlet
Letter, Give Me Danger and a few others. Should
be cool, it's a fun band!

And finally, the guy from Init Records has been
really friendly and super to deal with, if just
on a personal level. Check out what he does, much
like the focus of 25 ta Life's lyrics, he is diy
and keeps it real.

Time to go fill the bathtub with Nice Nice vinyl
and sing Bonnie Raitt songs. Fine China!

9.18.02
Some live performance news of note, which I am
particularly excited for: on September 26th, I am
booking a show with the help of my pal Morris at
Moravian College. The performing acts are Sightings
(Load Records, from Brooklyn) and Pearls and Brass
(glory rock from Pennsylvania), both of which are
acts that I wholeheartedly endorse. The show is free
and starts at 9:30, you can email me for directions
if interested. Also, the Gatecrashers are playing
their first show in roughly a year, which is a pretty
big deal to me. It's at the Pirate's Cove here in
Allentown, and other acts include Crucial Unit and
Municipal Waste, grindy thrash stuff who share a
split LP. That show is on October 5th, and starts
around 7ish, and will be donation-based. It's been
a while since I've abused my bass guitar, should
be a blast.
9.03.02
The Nice Nice 7" is being pressed as I write this, albeit
in a vastly different time zone.

In hypertext news, Jonny D. Catt (famed Ultimate Warriors
roadie and former owner of an unclassified mid-90's emo
label) wrestles professionally as the Ultra Mantis. He
has probably the best website I've ever seen, I strongly
urge everyone to check this out, every page is a treat.
Don't forget to watch the video! www.ultramantis.com

8.27.02
As a man of my word, here's the page that the Ultimate
Warriors and Kungfu Rick got for the new split 7". The
funny stuff is highlighted, for anyone not interested
in searching. Enjoy!
8.25.02
The Nice Nice 7" should be available in about a month
if everything goes as planned. There will be roughly
500 copies, all on clear, Czech Republic vinyl. I am
so excited for this record!

The GTC are currently gearing up to record for a split
7" with a yet unconfirmed group on Cephia's Treat,
a pretty rad label from down south. More on this as it
develops.

A lot of records in the distro section have been moving
pretty fast, if you've been pondering an order, my advice
is to get moving!

That's all for now, time to get my school books in order
and wash my clothes. Playlist: Pearls and Brass, Eardrum,
Menstruation Sisters, Hair Police, Glass Harp

8.01.02
Recently the PSU Vanguard did a little story on Nice
Nice, you can check it out here. The record grows closer
to completion by the second!

Also, the Ultimate Warriors new split 7" with Kungfu
Rick is now available, from your favorite street corner
as well as this here interweb site! Colored vinyl for
enthusiasts, as well. Also, we pranked Lumberjack Distro
by listing the completely-falsified factoid that Randy
of the Ultimate Warriors was drafted as a relief pitcher
of the Seattle Mariners, and they actually printed it!
If I can get a copy of the "press sheet," I'll scan it
so everyone else can chuckle along with us.

7.20.02
If you're in the area, be sure to check out the GTC
playing at the Pirate's Cove with Troubleman Unlimited
recording artists the Lack, as well as winners of best
band name ever award, Blimp Attack. It's August 3rd,
directions are here if you need them.
7.01.02
Check out an MP3 of the second (and shortest) Nice
Nice track on the upcoming 7" here! White Denim accepts
no responsibility for exploded brains or cauliflower ear.
6.30.02
Yesterday I received the material for the Nice Nice
record, and just like the Geto Boys said, it took
me directly to the other level of the game. Seriously
so excited to be a part of this, should be finished
and available by the end of summer if things go as
planned.

The GTC tour went smoothly, with the exception of a
black bruise the size of a papaya and a handful of
cigarette burns. Killer new material!

Chikara Pro Wrestling, of which Ultimate Warriors
members can be found working for, was just written
about in the area's paper. Like all interesting
and fun things in Allentown, the local pigs are
trying to shut it down. For more info, check out
their site. Fun fact: Brad actually wrestled a tag
match with La Parka!

Alright, back to itching my many mosquito bites
and an SNL rerun. Audi 2000!

6.10.02
Just added a photos section, be sure to check it out
and marvel at my amazing useage of room tones and
symmetry! Also, the GTC are on tour now, go and see
them!
5.18.02
School's out! In a few short weeks, I hope to be out
skateboarding, swimming and playing basketball again.
A much needed break from the hassles of school. In
much more important news, I am happy to announce that
the next White Denim release will be a 7" by Portland's
Nice Nice, an amazing two piece that will blow your
mind if you aren't already familiar. More details on
that as they are available. And go check the catalog
section, lots of cool records you probably can't find
many other places.
5.14.02
I just sent out half of the remaining orders for the
Ultimate Warriors full-length, the rest go out later
this week. Thanks again to everyone for being patient.

5.09.02
New site is up, and I'm proud of it. Navigate around
and have yourself a good time. Thanks for stopping by.

The GTC are hitting the road in early June, be sure
to check their website for up-to-the-second info.
Totally swell dudes, they will have records, hopefully
shirts, and a duffel bag full of computer hardware
and blazing new songs. Sleep on this and your lid
will forever be crooked.

The limited first pressing of the Ultimate Warriors
'Our Gimmick Is Wrestling' 12" LP is still available,
but moving swiftly. On the horizon is the slick, nougat-
flavored second press, sure to make you wish you were
on vacation. Keep your internet eyes peeled for that.
Due to overwhelming costs (surpassing that of the
budget for Disney's 'Operation: Dumbo Drop'), it is
also now a split release with not only Double Decker
Records, but Union City Records (if you ever wondered
who gets paid to sit courtside at Sixers games, just
making sure all the A/V cables are plugged in correctly,
that's Union City).

Other than that, I am looking into doing a fairly
limited 7" release over summer. Nothing is set in
stone, but I promise it will not be Gonkulator or
Necrophagia.

See you in the new issue of Cracked! - Matt
