From the seemingly unlikely locale of Lexington, Kentucky, Hair Police manage to
dish out some of the most energetic and in-the-red rock on the planet. Comparisons
to Harry Pussy and Throbbing Gristle are not completely unfounded, but Hair Police pound at their equipment
with a youthful exuberance and hungry lust that is completely unmatched by any other
act performing today. One would imagine Hair Police surivive on a steady diet of Red
Bull and Powerbars, the way they destroy themselves, the crowd, and anything else
punk enough to be in the same room. Hair Police performances border on an episode of
Fear Factor, yet could never be considered mindless, aimless meandering. Listeners
are certainly able to decipher between Hair Police's songs, proving that their
brutality does not conflict with compentency and catchiness.
After releasing their 'History of Ghost Dad' CD-R on Gods of Tundra and 'Blow Out
Your Blood' CD on Freedom From, Hair Police are only now coming into their own and
scraping the surface of what they are truly capable. Anyone lucky enough to catch
Hair Police on their 2002 Summer tour with Neon Hunk and Mammal know exactly how
intense and fun Hair Police are live, it's just up to the rest of us to catch on
as soon as we possibly can. With a multitude of future releases planned, Hair Police
will certainly be blessing the world with their Power-Violence meets Monday Night
Football way of life for years to come.
